The reason the world was created was simply out of love. God sent the word forth and created beauty out of nothing. The Lord could have given us just black and white, yet he gave us layers of colors. He could have given us one flower but gave us over 400,000 different species. He could have given us one type of meal but gave us tastebuds to consume different delicacies. All of this was done because of love, because we are all his favorites, all his children. Even though there are consequences for our sins, and we have the choice to walk away from him, that does not stop his great love for us.

The Christian walk is not about earning God’s love and grace; it is not about having to prove that we belong. It is about realizing we are starting from a place of love and grace. This strengthens us to walk the walk. To seek God, knowing he will answer. It allows us to live fully knowing if we fail, we have a place to land and a God who will hold us close. 

Because God is infinite, his love has no end, which means there is enough love for everyone. So yes, you are his favorite; bask in that truth and knowledge that you are deeply loved. Ask God to give you the wisdom to learn how to live fully with those facts.
